Hot Split Transfers

The BERDA CompuGraphix approach to Hot Split Transfers is different and very simple-- WE ONLY MAKE 1 COLOR TRANSFERS (in your choice of ink color).

We don't make multi-color Heat Transfers. The majority of orders that you will get from businesses, teams, etc. will be for 1 color printing. The reason is simple, one color designs are the least costly to the customer and are the easiest and fastest to produce--this is what most customers want.

Both of the T-Shirt Transfers that we offer (Hot Split and Cold Peel) are made using Plastisol ink. Plastisol ink is the industry standard ink used for garment screen printing. Plastisol ink contains PVC (poly vinyl chloride) and other chemicals that when cured (dryed by heat) on the garment, bonds to the garment for a durable long lasting imprint.

Hot Split Transfer ink is a special type of plastisol ink that when applied by a heat press to the garment, the ink "splits" leaving a portion of the ink on the transfer paper and a portion of the ink transferred to the garment--thus the name "Hot-Split."

The outstanding features of Hot-Split Transfers are that they are very easy to apply and leave a soft hand feel to the imprint on the shirt. There is no "rubbery" feel or look to Hot-Split transfers--they look just like the image was directly screen printed on the shirt. The only drawback to standard Hot Split Transfers is that they have a low opacity, and must be used on white, ash gray, or very light pastel colors. If you need a high opacity print on your shirts (e.g.: a white print on a black shirt), you will need to use Cold Peel Transfers.

Our transfers must be applied using a heat transfer press. They cannot be "ironed-on" using a home iron.
