The compact size and efficient optical performance of the Compact Low Bay make it an ideal choice for low to medium mounting heights. It is ideal for many typical industrial applications, as well as for commercial and retail sites.
Reflector
The Compact Low Bay reflector
measures 16.5" in diameter and is totally enclosed and gasketed. An
improved, high reflectance, acrylic white powder paint provides a durable
finish, while improving heat dissipation and distribution. A high reflector
efficiency in excess of 76% provides a spacing criterion of 1.6.
Refractor Lens
The acrylic refractor is injection-molded with a prismatic design to
soften and disperse light from the reflector. This optical system is
designed to maximize efficiency and distribution while controlling glare.
This lens is held in place by an aluminum support ring, which clips to the
reflector. One clip is secured to the reflector to support the lens for ease
when relamping. An optional polycarbonate refractor is available for
installations where the fixture is at risk of being bumped, such as in a
gymnasium.
Ballast
The sturdy die cast aluminum housing,
which encloses the electrical components, is standard with our exclusive
DeltaGuard® finish featuring an E-coat epoxy primer and white acrylic powder
topcoat. A thermal chimney in the housing provides air circulation to cool
components, thereby extending their useful life. High power factor, constant
wattage autotransformer ballast options are available in 120, 208, 240, 277,
347 or 480V. High power factor CWA Quad-volt (120/208/240/277V) or CWA
Tri-volt (120/277/347V) ballasts are standard with SSB Mount.
Gasketing
Complete gasketing is provided, both
at the point the reflector is attached to the ballast housing and to the
refractor. This feature reduces dirt contamination, extending lamp life and
performance.
Lamps
Fixture includes mogul base lamp
(medium base for 150W PSMH). Available in 150, 200, 250, 300, 320,350, 400
or 450W PSMH; 175, 250 or 400W MH; 150, 250 or 400W HPS.

The Compact Low Bay is UL Listed in
U.S. and Canada for lamp containment and for damp locations, suitable for
ambient operation as follows: 40°C (104°F) for 400W units; and 55°C (131°F)
for 250W and less.
Description
Our Canopy Light (CL Series) is a highly
efficient fixture that is available for surface mounting and is offered in
three sizes: 12-inch, 16-inch or 22-inch square. All are standard with a
high-power-factor ballast that will operate at -40F (PSMH and HPS) or -20F
(MH).
Housing
The seamless, die-cast housing is standard with our Colorfast DeltaGuard™
finish featuring an E-coat epoxy primer and white ultra-durable powder
topcoat. Consult factory for availability of other finish colors.
Optics
Precision specular reflector provides 78 percent efficiency and cutoff
distribution for maximum light levels. Lens enclosed in a hinged frame. On
12-inch and 16- inch square housings, a Crystal #73, tempered-glass lens is
standard. 22- inch square fixtures are supplied with an acrylic drop
prismatic lens, 2-1/4 inches (57 mm) deep.
Ballast
All fixtures are standard with a highpower-factor ballast. The 35-watt HPS
and 26-watt fluorescent fixtures are standard with a 120-volt ballast. The
50- to 100-watt MH fixtures are standard with a dual-volt ballast
(120/277V). In the U.S., all other fixtures are standard with a quad-volt
ballast (120/208/240/277V). In Canada PSMH, 50- to 400-watt MH and 70- to
400-watt HPS fixtures are supplied with a tri-volt ballast (120/277/347V),
50-watt HPS fixtures are supplied with a 347V ballast. See order information
chart for additional ballast options.
Lamps
12" housing accommodates 26-watt quad-tube compact fluorescent (CFL),
medium-base 150W PSMH, 50, 70, 100 or 175W MH and 35, 50, 70, 100 or 150W
HPS lamps. 16" housing accommodates mogul-base 320W PSMH, 175, 250 or 400W
MH and 250 or 400W HPS lamps. 22" housing available with mogul-base 250 or
400W MH or HPS lamp.
Mounting
For Direct Mount the housing is supplied with four 0.188-inch clearance
holes for #8 screws. Four #8 x 1-inch sheet metal screws and sealing washers
are provided for a watertight seal. When surface or feed-through wiring is
required, an SB-16 Surface Box accessory is available. For installation on a
combustible or insulated surface (such as wood or drywall), 1-inch (25 mm)
spacers or an SB-16 Surface Box is required for 150-watt and above 12-inch
fixtures and 320-watt and above 16-inch fixtures. The Quick Mount option is
also available (described on page 190).
Wiring
Two 1/2-inch flush, threaded openings with socket-drive closure plugs are
provided for one or two 1/2-inch conduits. 150°C minimum supply wire is
required.
Labels
Direct Mount:
UL Listed in the U.S. and Canada for wet locations. Enclosure classified
IP54 (22") and IP65 (12" & 16") per IEC 529 and IEC 598. Not UL Listed for
feed-through wiring unless SB-16 Surface Box accessory is used.
Quick Mount:
UL Listed for damp locations.
