Cold Storage Doors
ARCHITECTURAL SPECIFICATIONS

Supply where indicated on plans "ENVIRO" Cold Storage Doors as manufactured by ASI Technologies, Inc., Milwaukee, Wisconsin and supplied by BMIL International, New York, New York to fit door opening _____ wide by _____ high and to conform to APHIS-U.S.D.A. (M.I.D.) sanitation regulations.
Doors shall be single piece [ ] cooler or [ ] freezer doors. Door panel shall consist of two molded fiberglass reinforced polyester shells, surfaced with white (specify if other color required) polyester gel-coat and bonded into a seamless unit. Corners and edges to be reinforced to a thickness of 3/8" [9.5mm] Panel to be reinforced with an 11 gauge internal steel frame (3" x 2" [76mm x 51mm] channel for 4" [101mm] doors or 4-1/2" x 2" [114mm x 51mm] channel for 6" [152mm] doors) with 11 gauge steel hardware backing plates (1/4" [6.35mm] plates at top for hanging hardware) welded to frame. Panel to be filled with pour-type polyurethane foam having a "K" factor of .12 at 75�F [24�C]. Frame and header to consist of door matching fiberglass shell laminated to exterior grade plywood to a finished thickness of 1-5/8" [41mm]. Hardware attachment plates of 11 gauge steel laminated into frame. Gasket at sides and head of frame to be grease resistant thermal plastic rubber with resilient sponge core in freezer doors. Sill gasket to be nylon reinforced neoprene loop type. Freezer doors to be equipped on four sides of panel with U.L. Listed "No Frost" heater cables with adjustable thermostat. Door sealing action to be "down and in" providing positive sealing in closed position while leaving door free of gasket drag during travel.
Semi enclosed heavy duty 3" [76mm] track with 3" ball bearing roller wheels mounted on heavy duty adjustable brackets completely galvanized for corrosion resistance. Panel suspended on 3/16" [4.76mm] galvanized wire rope, specially flexible and lubricated for long life turning on bearing equipped sheaves and counterweights with adjustable cast iron weight system. Corrosion resistant pull handle and step plate standard.
Power drive system to be hydraulically operated and chain driven for smooth high speed door operation. Travel limit switch to provide infinite external adjustment without special tools. Actuation to be provided by two ceiling mounted, low voltage pull cord switches (one heated on freezers). Manual drive chain disconnect to be provided on front of door panel. Electric motor to be 1 HP, 230/460 volt, 60 cycle, 3 phase. Electrical controls to be enclosed in a NEMA-4 rated enclosure. Complete system to be assembled and ready for connection (by others). Operator and power drive channel to be completely assembled and tested at factory.
Door panel to be equipped with air activated instant reversing safety edge, effective full bottom width and full travel of door panel.
Note: Specify 6" of insulation for all blast freezer applications; when cold room temperature is 0� F or colder, or when temperature difference between rooms is more than 40�F [22�C].
